How It All Started

A simple oven and a

In 1999, Dunken Bakery started with a singular vision: to bring the authentic, comforting taste of traditional Sri Lankan baking to our local community. What began as a small storefront has now grown into multiple branches across the island.

Despite our growth, our philosophy hasn't changed. We still wake up before the sun rises, we still use real butter, locally sourced spices, and we still believe that a warm Seeni Sambol bun can fix almost anything.
